So, my year of yoga started last week on Wednesday 21st August at the beautiful Full Moon Yoga session held by the beach in the grounds of a very beautiful hotel. It was a gentle yoga but as I haven't done any yoga for a few weeks and hardly any this year, it still felt challenging. My ankles, back and shoulders creaked into life as I marveled at how immobile I become each day from sitting at my desk, gravity weighing down on me, only to feel so refreshed and revitalised as the poses send new fresh blood through my joints and guide my body back into better alignment. The final part of the session was a guided meditation. We turned to face the sea, tuned our ears into the sounds of the waves and breathed in the hot summer night air.

I felt really happy and refreshed on the way back to the hotel entrance riding on the hotel buggy that wound its way through the hotel grounds, now empty and silent, lit up with gentle lighting set against the palm trees and glowing from just beneath the surface of the various blueish-shadowed swimming pools. All in all, a gorgeous night to begin my Year of Yoga.

Next up, I have just booked a two day special workshop for this coming weekend. So, in case I don't get to squeeze in a session somewhere after work I have that to look forward to.
